Depreciation calculator

The median asking price for a Bowrider / deck boat built in the 2020s listed right now is $74,900 across 339 priced listings. This is the newest decade with enough listings to measure for this type. Asking prices, not sale prices; a private sale usually closes below the dealer ask.

What moves a used boat off the median

  • Engine hours and a documented service history.
  • Repower: a newer engine on an older hull can lift the price well above its decade.
  • Covered or indoor storage versus years on a mooring.
  • Trailer included, and its condition.
  • Season and region: boats list higher going into spring and in long-season states.

Frequently asked questions

How fast do boats lose value?
The type-by-decade table shows it for each type, measured from current listings. The steepest drop is usually in the first years; after the second decade, condition matters more than age.
Is a 20-year-old boat worth buying?
Often, if the hull is sound and the engine checks out. Older boats list far below newer ones of the same type, and a survey tells you whether the discount is a bargain or a warning.
