Boat Price Guide 2026: What Used Boats Cost by Type and Brand

What a used boat costs depends first on its type and then on its brand. This guide gives both as live medians from boats currently for sale, so you can set a budget before you shop or a price before you list.

Used boat prices by type

Type sets the price band. The gap between a used pontoon and a used cruiser is wider than the gap between any two pontoon brands, so pick the type first.

Used boat prices by brand

Brands are ranked by how many priced listings they have, so the top rows carry the most data. A high median with a small count is usually one premium model line, not the brand as a whole.

What the guide does not include

  • Trailer, registration, insurance, storage and winterization are extra and recurring.
  • Taxes and dealer fees vary by state and are not in an asking price.
  • A survey and an engine compression test cost money up front and can save far more.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a used boat cost?
It depends mostly on type. The table above gives the live median asking price for each type of boat currently listed, refreshed hourly.
Which boat brands hold their value?
Compare a brand's median by decade on the used boat prices page. Brands whose older boats still list close to the newer ones are holding value best.
Are these prices negotiable?
Usually. They are asking prices, and final prices typically settle below asking, more so for boats that have been listed a long time or outside the season.
