Buyer questions
Eight questions buyers ask about the Sportsman Open 232 Center Console, answered from the boats listed on US Marine Connection right now.
Right now US Marine Connection shows 4 priced Open 232 Center Console listings asking between $94,977 and $118,864, with a median asking price of $118,864. Those are asking prices, not what a boat actually sold for. The spread reflects a mix of one used 2023 boat and newer units being listed as new, so compare year, engine and rigging before judging any single number.
The current listings run from 2023 to 2027. That covers one used 2023 boat described with a Yamaha 250 HP single outboard, plus newer units listed as new with Yamaha F250XB power. With only 4 priced boats on the page at the moment, the year mix can change, so check the individual listing year rather than assuming the whole range is always available.
Most of these listings do not publish an hour figure, mainly because three of the four are described as new units. The exception is the used 2023 boat, whose description lists 150 engine hours. With that little data there is no meaningful average to quote here, so ask the seller for a current hour reading and confirm it against the engine display when you inspect.
On the used 2023 boat, verify the stated 150 hours on the Yamaha 250's gauge and ask for service records. Check the outboard for corrosion, look over the hull and transom, test steering, trim, bilge pump, livewell plumbing and all electronics, and inspect fuel lines and hoses. For the units listed as new, confirm rigging, propeller choice and what the Yamaha coverage includes in writing.
Going only by what the descriptions state: all four are center console boats with single Yamaha outboard power. The used 2023 boat lists a Yamaha 250 HP gas outboard, single outboard propulsion, and a 23 ft LOA, and is described as built for performance fishing. The three newer units list Yamaha F250XB outboards. Nothing else, such as electronics packages or seating details, is spelled out, so ask for a full spec sheet.
That is the use the listings actually support. The used 2023 description calls it a high-quality boat built for performance fishing and groups it with used fishing boats and center consoles. The center console layout with a single Yamaha 250 backs that up for walking a fish around the boat. The descriptions do not detail tackle storage, livewells or rod holders, so confirm the fishing package on the specific hull.
All 4 priced listings on US Marine Connection have photos. Three are in Houston, Texas, and the remaining one is in Bradenton, Florida. If you are not near those two areas, it is worth planning a trip to see the boat in person, since there are no other cities represented in the current Open 232 Center Console listings.
On price and volume, the Open 232 has 10 listings from $64,977 to $118,945, median $102,695, spanning 2019 to 2026, so it offers more choice and lower entry points. The 232 Open shows 7 listings from $112,900 to $126,010, median $125,110, in 2025 and 2026 only, so it sits higher. The listings do not include spec comparisons between these models, so compare each boat's stated engine and year directly.
